Snoqualmie, WA (May 11, 2018) – DirtFish Motorsports Driver, James Rimmer, is pleased to announce his entry into the 2018 Olympus Rally! This will be Rimmer’s first competitive outing since the conclusion of his 2017 Rallycross campaign, and his first stage rally since the 2017 Oregon Trail Rally.

Following a lengthy off-season and focusing on his studies at the University of Denver, James has been looking forward to the opportunity to compete in a stage rally. With Olympus being DirtFish and Rimmer’s home rally event, it was the perfect race for Rimmer to get back into the driver’s seat.

Rimmer’s previous outing at Olympus was in 2015, where he was driving his brand new DirtFish-built Group 2 Subaru BRZ rally car. This time around, he has stepped it up a substantial amount and will be behind the wheel of a championship-winning Open Class car that has been built and maintained by Rocket Rally Racing out of Squamish, British Columbia. DirtFish has partnered with Rocket Rally for the tuning needs for their school fleet as well as their limited open class car! They have a track record for success in rally, building championship-winning cars for drivers like Pat Richard, Antoine L’Estage and Martin Rowe.

Sitting alongside Rimmer in the passenger seat will be world-renown Co-driver, Rhianon Gelsomino, who has numerous stage rally and championship wins from around the world. Rhianon and husband, Alex, have created OZ Rally Pro to provide co-driver training, pace note training, goal setting, fitness and nutritional advice, logistics and career planning guidance to rally teams around the world. She will be a great addition to the team for Olympus.

Rimmer said with enthusiasm, “I’m incredibly excited to get back behind the wheel of a proper stage rally car. With Rhianon in the co-driver’s seat, I’m looking forward to learning a lot and setting some fast stage times. Working with Rocket Rally Racing and 4-time Canadian Rally Champion, Pat Richard is something I have wanted to do for years, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. I can’t wait!”

Olympus Rally begins Saturday, May 19th in the small town of Shelton, Washington. Click here to view the full schedule of events.
