Chad was introduced to the world motorsports when he bought his first car at the age of 18. He raced his 1986 Toyota MR2 in local autocross events around the state of Washington. He soon realized that autocross was boring, which lead him to fall in love with track driving and the sport of drifting. He always enjoyed tinkering and modifying the cars that he owned, so he decided to take that passion and make it his career. He attended Universal Technical Institute in Arizona and then obtained a job at a Volvo dealership. All the while, going drifting with his 1993 Nissan 240SX. Wanting to focus more on working on race cars, he found himself a position at DirtFish Rally School.
